FF IX Number 1 in Sales

Square Electronic Arts recently announced that Final Fantasy IX has been the number 1 selling
PlayStation game in North America since it was released on November 14. Sales for the game
have been so high that even if you combine the games in 2nd and 3rd place, their sales don't
even come close to that of FF IX.
Since the first Final Fantasy game appeared in 1988, the series has sold an astonishing 30 million
units in Japan and North America. Final Fantasy is one of the top selling series in video
game history. With numbers like these, it doesn't look like the Final Fantasy series will
end any time soon.
