Jump Festival is a conference that's going on right now in Japan where gaming companies gather and show off their upcoming games. Squaresoft was on hand and they showed off a new video clip of the upcoming Final Fantasy X. They also showed clips from The Bouncer, Final Fantasy - The Spirits Within, and Final Fantasy I & II on the Wonder Swan.

Final Fantasy X will take place in a totally 3D world for the first time. The 30 clip that Square showed was very smooth and had a very high resolution. Part of the story for FF X looks to involve the different elemental Gods that are at war.

The game will take place in a post-apocalyptic world that's nearly totally covered in water. The character models are similar to those in Final Fantasy VIII. They have a more real look as opposed to the cartoon-like look the characters in Final Fantasy IX had. The main character goes by the name Tide and looks very similar to Squall from FF VIII. The other characer shown was Yuna, who is Tide's love interest. In the clip Yuna appears to be a water goddess that is at war with the fire god.

There is no footage currently available from the conference but we'll keep you updated.
