Ruby Weapon | Emerald Weapon
The Ruby Weapon is located in the desert that surrounds the Golden Saucer. He will appear once
the Ultimate Weapon has been destoyed. You will see a little red thing sticking out of the
sand. To fight him, either fly into it with your airship, or run into it with a Gold Chocobo.
Either way, you're screwed :)
You will only be able to cause this guy damage if his claws aren't buried in the groud. If you
try to attack him while his claws are in the ground he will use his Quicksand attack on you
which removes one of your characters from the battle. Normally when the Ruby Weapon uses this
attack, it will use it twice in a row, thus leaving you with only one character left. Make sure
that you attack his torso at full force whenever he barries his claws.
The Enemy Skill Big Guard is very helpful. Make sure your characters always have it cast on
them. The materia Quad Magic, Knights of the Round, and Bahumat Zero all seam to really damage
this weapon. Unfortunatly, using Knights of the Round usually causes the Ruby Weapon
to retaliate with Ultima. Another thing that really helps in this battle is to have all
your characters equiped with the Final Attack-Revive combination.
For defeating the Ruby Weapon, you will receive the Desert Rose. You can't use this directly,
but you can trade it at Kalm. The man there collects different items, one of them being the
Desert Rose. If you give it to him, he will give you a Gold Chocobo!
